Facebook
Marketing & Product Analytics Intern June 2011 - August 2011
  • Brand Permissions Request Form: Redesigned the entire brand request submissions flow that hundreds of companies go through every single day to use Facebook's trademarks and screenshots. Generated multiple concepts and iterated through multiple designs. Discussed with key stakeholders and was the PM, designer, and engineer for this overhaul. [PHP, Javascript, HTML/CSS]
  • Birthday Reminders: Implemented one of the most requested features for the Facebook Android app. Daily notifications of your friends' birthdays tailored to what time you wish to be reminded. [Java]
  • NFC Integration (Hackathon project): Add friends, check into places, and share URLs instantly via NFC on the Facebook Android app.  
  • Instant Upload (Hackathon project): Instantly upload pictures to Facebook after taking a picture for the Facebook Android app.
  • Real-time Metrics Tool: Upgraded an internal tool that tracks all keywords on Facebook in real-time to make it more scalable, support international countries, and more user friendly.

Technical Operations Intern May 2010 - August 2010
  • Installed and configured UNIX servers in production and staging environments, from physical setup in the cages to installing the custom OS and configurations for each machine.
  • Wrote bash scripts for custom Solaris Jumpstart, for example, a script that determines which account manifest files should be installed onto a server when performing Jumpstart.

Lead Network Engineering Assistant February 2009 - Present
  • Supervising a team of six student staff that is responsible for front line technical support for over 9,000 residential network and cable TV connections. 
  • Documenting technical procedures and diagnostics for network and cable equipment.  
  • Hosting workshops and presentations for IT staff to gain insight to our team.
  • Hiring and training new student staff on our team annually.

RELEVANT COURSEWORK

Venture Lab Mobile Applications -  Collaborate in a small team of business and technical students to develop a mobile application with a business plan.  In the end, teams present their product to VCs and the best teams can proceed to get funding to start their own company after the course.
